Matthews Back With Blacks
Saturday 11th December, 2004

Port Kembla has welcomed back another former Black with Daniel Matthews signing with the club recently. Matthews spent time playing with Port for a short season in the mid 90's before playing with clubs including Dapto, Collegians, and most recently Warilla in the Group Seven competition.

After farewelling Clint Hill to Canberra, Matthews is a welcome addition and a big step towards suring up Port's Front Row ranks. With Mick Cross having started training after his work commitments moved him back in the area, and with Paul Nilon returning after a stint overseas, the front row of Port is looking healthy.

Daniel Bunt also returns to The Blacks after a couple of seasons with Shellharbour. Bunt linked with The Blacks in 2002 when he played 14 first grade and four reserve grade games, amassing 172 points in the process and helping Port to it's first semi finals appearance in 17 years.

Matthews has played 8 games and scored 24 points for Port.

Further signings are expected in the coming weeks and will be reported on Mightyblacks.com.au as they come to hand.
